This is our spot. We've been here at least 15 times and have brought at least 4 friends. I enjoy Korean BBQ, but not cooking my own food for $50/person. Good news: they cook your food here! The same server is here (they just added a new guy), and despite how small the restaurant is and how busy it gets, the service is quick. We're huge fans of the LA galbi and seafood dolsot bibimbap. We've tried nearly everything on the menu - you can't go wrong. My daughter says this is her favorite food ever, and she enjoys the K-pop on TV. The neighborhood is meh and we've encountered unsavory persons outside, but inside it's clean and there are heaters throughout to make it warm and cozy.

This food was AMAZING!!! Probably the best Korean food I've ever had! You get a crazy amount of food for the price you pay, easily two meals worth if you eat all the banchan. The staff and vibes were also great. Definitely will be going here again very shortly!!!

Delicious Kali ribs, chapchae. Dumplings as well as the kimchi and pickled vegetable side dish. We came for takeout called 5 min before we arrived. Everything fresh and hot within 10 min. We will definitely come back.

Still 5 stars. Bibimbap is phenomenal. The Galbi is addictive, I get it every time I come. The server is the best. It's a little bit cool inside in the winter, because it's a small place and obviously people have to open the door to leave or come in. But they do have heaters set up in a couple spots and you can always get hot tea! This has become our go-to Korean spot. There's closer places to us, it's like a 30 minute drive for us, and we still come here anyway.

We DoorDashed a delicious meal of japchae, bibimbop, and beef bulgogi from Chungdam last night and everything was fresh, full of flavor, and simply delicious! I added it to my list of favorite stores on DoorDash and will definitely order again! I highly recommend trying it, as good Korean food is pretty hard to come by around here. Their banchan, which came free with the meal, was also great!

Chungdam never disappoints! Cozy hole in the wall Korean restaurant that hits all the right spots. I recommend the seafood pancake -- we get this EVERY TIME we come here. The shareable hot pots are great as well. Usually feeds 3-4 of us quite easily for a good price. The service is so kind and amazing -- one of the lady chefs made a special bowl of soup for my daughter and even offered to feed her while we ate. Very loving, family feeling restaurant.

A simple place, nothing fancy, but the bulgogi was huge and superb. The service was a bit slow because they had just one server and a rush of customers shortly after we arrived. We started with an order of Mandu ($8.50), deep fried dumplings (10) that were, unfortunately, NOT accompanied by a dipping sauce. I had the Beef Bulgogi ($21.95), a large iron skillet of savory, garlicky slices of beef and grilled onions. It came with a small relish tray with kimchi, pickled veggies, and fish. I could have done without the fish and a bit more kimchi. A small pitcher of Sake cost just $5 and was a nice compliment to the meal. CombatCritic Gives Chungdam Korean Fusion 8 Bombs Out Of 10 ... I've been coming to Chungdam since high school, and it's always been a great experience! It's my comfort place to eat whenever I want a cozy meal. Ambiance: 5/5 Chungdam is a casual Korean restaurant located on Powell. It's a great spot when you're looking for somewhere warm and laid-back to eat. They play K-pop on the TV, but it was pretty quiet when we came during slow hours on a weekday, which added to the relaxed vibe. Service: 5/5 The food came out quickly, and the waiters were very nice and respectful. They checked in once to see if we were doing okay and then gave us space, which I appreciate! Food: 5/5 We ordered: Chicken Cheese Buldak: So yummy and cheesy! My friends and I always get this dish--it's arguably their best item. Kimchi Jjigae with pork and tofu: Spicy, tangy, and served steaming hot, just the way it should be. Side dishes: Mac salad, green beans, bean sprouts, cucumber kimchi, fish cake, and kimchi--all delicious and fresh. We also took home 3 orders of bibimbap, and it was just as delicious. Big portions with lots of veggies!

I was really excited to get something warm and soupy after arriving from the airport into freezing weather. Came here midday and there were only a few tables filled. We were greeted and sat right away. Loved that they put a heat lamp near where we were sitting to keep the area warm. We decided to order the army stew and it was huge! Between the two of us, we ate about 2/3 of it. The army stew was great and had many proteins and vegetables. Our meal also came with some banchan which were also delicious. Our server was great, always checking in on us. The parking is small and a bit tight. The entrance is also off to the side a bit so don't mistaken it for the pizza place next door.Arm

[Food]: 4/5 - Yukgaejang was solid, full of scallion, beef, and noodle, one of my personal favorites and iI feel like it was made well - Duk Gook was also pretty good, rice cakes were chewy and we enjoyed how eggy it was - Haemul PaJeon was SUPER packed full of seafood and so far is one of my favorite seafood pancakes in the area - Tteokbokki was good just had a LOT of black pepper which took over the flavor a little more than I usually like but again, pretty solid - PanJeon was okay, i liked the bean sprout and pickled radish the most [Service]: 5/5 - our waiter was extremely tentative and friendly! [Ambiance]: 4/5 - nothing crazy, but was cozy.
